Heguang Cloud 3D vision: precise truck-bed reinforcement detection for automated cement loading upgrades

Automating cement loading process control with 3D vision

Customer background

Cement dispatch lanes face dust, mixed fleets, and safety risk during manual spotting. The goal was reliable structure awareness before opening spouts.

Pain points

Truck beds use internal ribs for strength. They are hard to see from the ground, especially over 2 m wall height. In manual mode, operators judge spout depth by eye—dust blocks the view and drives misoperation:

Cement loading lane site
  • Spout too low risks collision with ribs and equipment damage;
  • Spout too high increases dust, spill, and cleanup cost;
  • Overfill spills clinker outside the bed with safety and environmental impact.

HEGANG YUNCHANG solution

Against these issues, HEGANG YUNCHANG deployed a LiDAR-based 3D recognition stack with the following capabilities:

Truck-bed point cloud segmentation
  1. 3D scan and mapping of the bed interior in real time
  2. Automatic rib and obstacle coordinates for anti-collision
  3. Closed-loop to PLC/host for guarded spout motion
  4. HMI visualization of structure, fill progress, and safe zones
  5. Safer, cleaner loading with controlled drop height and path

Customer benefits

With HEGANG YUNCHANG 3D vision, the plant moved from manual spotting to intelligent automated loading:

  • Stronger process control and environmental compliance
  • Fewer rib/spout collisions
  • Lower dust and spill
  • Higher loading accuracy and throughput
  • Less manual exposure in the hazard zone
